What is Levitra?
Levitra pills come in three different doses: 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg film coated tablets. Most men begin with a 10mg dose and increase or decrease the dose based on their own personal experiences. Your doctor will help select the right dose for you. The following is a general guidline for choosing the dose to start with:
5mg: You are able to achieve an erection consistently but it is soft and doesn't last long.
10mg: You have difficulty achieving an erection consistently. Intercouse is difficult and sometimes fails.
20mg: You are incapable of achieving an erection. Intercourse rarely happens.
How To Take Levitra
Swallow a Levitra pill with water (with or without a meal) 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. Upon sexual stimulation you will be able to achieve an erection as soon as 20 minutes and up to 4 to 5 hours after taking a dose.
If you take Levitra with a meal, be aware that meals high in saturated fat (pizza, french fries etc.) may delay the time it takes for the dose to begin working.
Avoid drinking Grapefruit juice when using Levitra. Grapefruit juice can counteract the effect of the medicine.
Only take one dose per 24 hour period.
Avoid Fatty Meals
Studies have shown that when Levitra is taken with meals high in saturated fat it can take 20% longer to be fully absorbed and ready to begin working. Pizza is a delicious and popular choice for dinner but each slice contains about 30 grams of fat and is probably the worst choice for dinner if you wish to have a full and fast acting benefit from Levitra.
Limit Alcoholic Drinks
For the best results you should limit your alcohol intake. Studies have shown Levitra is safe and effective with moderate blood aclohol levels (.08). However, alcohol only adds to erection difficulties and can also increase the presence of side effects. To get the best experience you should limit your alcohol consumption as much as possible.
Do not take Levitra with heavy alcohol consumption.
Avoid Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice naturally block an enzyme in your body that is critical to absorbing Levitra. Therefore, if you eat a grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with Levitra you will most likely not experience any benefits.
Keep your Levitra in a cool dry place away from the reach of children. Do not store Levitra in your bathroom. The frequent temperature and humidity changes of your bathroom can shorten the shelf life of Levitra and compromise its quality over time.
